Mother's Day event in the Puppet Theater and other activities!

year Activities, on May 10th children’s society and young
people with their parents were invited to the Latvian puppet
theater, to celebrate Mother's Day together and watch the show
"Joke after alphabet." This event was aimed at children and young
people with disability integration into society, to involve them in
attending cultural events. This year's event was attended by more
children and young people than in previous years. 160 children and
youth and 145 of their parents came. Among the visitors were also
Auces disabled children’s association "Māriņa" and Madona district
association "Mēs saviem Bērniem” children with their parents.
Children and young people were able to make nice greeting cards for
their mothers in the special workshop. Thanks to the project
funding and attracted donations, after the show, all participants
were invited to a coffee break. To honor mothers, assotication
representatives had prepared flowers, as the mothers were walking
out they were given to each mother. The association is very
grateful to 14 volunteers who helped with the jobs to organize the
event - made sure they welcomed every guest, operating creative
workshops for children and took care of the coffee table
presentation!
In June this year, the project "Step by step forward!"
framework, 33 children and 13 of their companions will go to a
two-day educational trip to Lithuania. During the tour, parents
will get detailed information on dolphin-therapy and its importance
in children's rehabilitation. Children and young people with
disabilities will be able to get acquainted with neighboring
cultures and history. It is planned to visit the dolphinarium after
the reconstruction and opening of it, the dead forest and sea
ravens in Kuršu dune, Klaipeda Art Gallery, Dinosaur Park,
the city of amber Palanga, Hill of Crosses, etc.
Likewise, representatives of the association will continue their
cooperation with other NGOs and defend children and young people
with disabilities, interests of inclusive education and other areas
of public administration institutions.
Estimated costs for the implementation of 2015 work plan
amounted to 29726,68 EUR where 95 % of program’s co-financing
were granted by European Economic Area Financial instruments, while
the remaining 5% - from the budget of the Latvia.
